The third leg of the International Ski Federation's Telemark Skiing World Cup will begin tomorrow in the French resort of Pra Loup.

Taking place over three days, the event will feature three forms of racing, starting with sprint action tomorrow and finishing with classic races on Friday (February 1).

Parallel sprint action will go ahead on Wednesday (January 30).

Going into the event the men's standings are led by Norway’s Trym Nygaard Loeken on 325 points, in front of Switzerland's Stefan Matter and Frenchman Phillippe Lau.

They are on 270 and 242 points respectively.

Lau won the overall World Cup title in 2016, but neither Nygaard Loeken nor Matter have taken the title before.

On the women's side the current leader is Switzerland's Amelie Reymond on 360 points.

The 31-year-old, who has claimed the overall title every year since 2014, leads by 80 points in front of 2017 World Championship bronze medallist Jasmin Taylor from Britain.

France's 2015 world champion Argeline Tan Bouquet sits third on 250 points.

Last time out in Pralognan-La-Vanoise, the sprint races were won by Lau and Taylor respectively.

They will go into tomorrow's races looking for their second wins in succession.
