Defending women's champion Nour El Sherbini and Nour El Tayeb will meet in a repeat of last year's final in the last four of the Professional Squash Association Tournament of Champions as both players came through their quarter-finals in New York City today.

Egyptian El Sherbini, the second seed, dispatched world number 16 and compatriot Salma Hany 12-10, 11-5, 11-8 to secure her semi-final place inside New York's Grand Central Terminal.

El Tayeb was equally dominant in her quarter-final as she beat England's Alison Waters 11-4, 11-6, 11-6.

New Zealand's Joelle King is the only non-Egyptian in either the women's or men's semi-finals as the fourth seed recovered from a disastrous opening game to clinch a 1-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-9 triumph over Camille Serme of France.

King, the fourth seed, will meet top seed and world number one Raneem El Welily in the last four after the Egyptian recorded an 11-6, 11-9, 11-4 win against team-mate Nouran Gohar.

In the men's draw, world number two Ali Farag and 2017 champion Tarek Momen ensured the title would be going to Egypt as they joined Mohamed Elshorbagy and Karim Abdel Gawad in the last four.

Farag defeated New Zealand's Paul Coll 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 while Momen overcame fellow Egyptian Omar Mosaad 11-7, 11-8, 11-7.

Momen and Farag will clash in the semi-finals tomorrow, when the women's last four contests are also scheduled to take place.

"Paul has been giving trouble to everyone and he is a very, very tough opponent to play against," said Farag.

"If we get into a physical battle, he is going to come out on top, so I had to play smart to control the pace as much as possible."
