The women's competition did not feature World Cup leader Ester Ledecká, who made sporting history at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games by winning gold medals in both snowboard and Alpine skiing.

Germany's Stefan Baumeister celebrated victory in the men's competition in Austria.

He earned a place in the gold medal ride off by earning wins over Italy's Maurizio Bormolini and Austria's Lukas Mathies in the quarter and semi-final stages of the event respectively.

Baumeister then finished 0.40 seconds faster than Switzerland's Dario Caviezel in the final.

World Cup leader Benjamin Karl settled for third place, after winning an all-Austrian small final by 0.55 seconds from Mathies.
