Slalom skiers will be back at the top of the slopes tomorrow for the International Ski Federation Alpine Skiing World Cup in Flachau.

The women’s competition comes three days after their latest slalom event, which took place in Croatia’s capital city Zagreb.

Mikaela Shiffrin continued her domination of the World Cup season with an impressive victory.

The American will head to Austria with a comfortable lead in the slalom and overall World Cup rankings, as she defends both crowns.

She heads the slalom standings on a total of 680 points, with Slovakia's Petra Vlhová 100 points behind in second.

The duo also occupy the top two positions in the overall World Cup standings, with double Olympic gold medallist Shiffrin leading on 1,214.

She has a strong advantage over Vlhová, who has 748 points.

Vlhová has provided the strongest challenge to Shiffrin this season, with the Slovakian having beaten her rival at the World Cup event in Oslo on New Year’s Day.

She will hope to achieve a similar result tomorrow.
