Poland's Piotr Zyla topped the individual large hill qualification standings with 128.9 points at the Ski Jumping Hill which has been used as a World Cup venue since 2014.

Rising star Ryoyu Kobayashi of Japan finished second with 128.4 points, while Norway's Johann Andre Forfang came third with 127.1. 

The main round and finals will take place tomorrow and  Sunday (December 2).

Kobayashi is currently first in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup ranking with 260 points after he won last week's event in Ruka and will look to extend this lead in Russia.

Stoch, the defending champion, is second in the rankings with 190 points and so will want to perform well this weekend to consolidate his challenge for first place.

Home interest Evgeniy Klimov will be also be a contender after winning the World Cup opener in Wisla earlier this month.
