England beat South Africa and hosts West Indies defeated Sri Lanka to reach the semi-finals of the International Cricket Council Women's World Twenty20 tournament.

England's Anya Shrubsole got a hat-trick to help her team beat South Africa by seven wickets at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.

"I'm so pleased with the performance, Anya and Nat set the tone with the ball, we fielded well and it was almost the complete performance," England captain Heather Knight said.

England's place in the semi-final was confirmed after hosts West Indies were victorious against Sri Lanka by 83 runs.

The West Indies and England are yet to play each other in Group A, with this match set to take place on Sunday (November 18).

Tomorrow will see the remaining fixtures of Group B played out, featuring New Zealand against Ireland and India against Australia.

The semi-finals will begin on November 22, with India and Australia joining the West Indies and England in the final four of the tournament.
