Italy's celebrated Rio 2016 Paralympic gold medallist Bebe Vio won gold in the women's category B foil event at the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Tbilisi.
Vio beat Russia's Irina Mishurova 15-5 in the final as the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation event, that marks the start of the qualifying phase for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, got underway.
Mishurova had edged through her semi-final 15-14 against compatriot Ludmila Vasileva.
Vio had a relatively easy last four passage with a 15-9 win over China's Zhou Jingjing in the Georgian capital.
The women's foil gold in category A went to China's Gu Haiyan, who beat Zsuzsanna Krajnyak of Hungary 15-8.
Gu had defeated Ukraine's Natalia Morkvych 15-11 in her semi-final, while Krajyak had advanced with a 15-14 win over fellow Hungarian Eva Andrea Hajmasi.
Britain's Piers Gilliver took the category A epee gold medal.
The Rio 2016 silver medallist beat Russia's 2017 champion Maxim Shaburov 15-12 in the final, having defeated another Russian, Roman Fedyaev, 15-7 in the semi-final.
Shaburov had advanced with a 15-7 win over Maurice Schmid of Germany.
And his team-mate Dimitri Coutya was soon making his own visit to the podium after taking silver in the epee category B.
Coutya had to give best to Amnar Ali of Iraq, who won 15-10.
Ali had won 15-6 in his semi-final with Ukraine's Oleg Naumenko, while Coutya had beaten Brazil's London 2012 gold medallist Jovaine Guissone 15-9.
