Russia claimed a clean sweep of the podium at the International Blind Sport Federation (IBSA) Chess Individual World Championships in Greece.

The competition was held in Chalkidiki, near Thessaloniki in the north of the country.

After nine rounds of matches Russia's Stanislav Babarykin topped the pile on seven points.

His compatriot Yuri Meshkov was second with Alexey Smirnov third, with both players ending on six-and-a-half.

Predrag Nikac from Montenegro was the best non-Russian in fourth place, tallying six points.

In all, 24 players took part representing 10 countries.
