Mexico beat Costa Rica and Puerto Rico won against the Dominican Republic to confirm their places in the final of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation Central America and Caribbean Championship in Costa Rica's capital San Jose.

Both teams have now qualified for the Parapan American Games in Lima in 2019 due to being the top two sides in the competition. 

Mexico dominated against Costa Rica, winning 77-27, while Puerto Rico beat the Dominican Republic 57-46. 

Nicaragua and El Salvador will face each other in the bronze medal match.

Coincidentally the two teams also played today, with Nicaragua the eventual 54-44 winners. 

Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic will compete for fifth place following the conclusion of the round-robin phase.

The final will take place tomorrow.

Mexico and Puerto Rico will join the United States, Canada and hosts Peru at the Parapan American Games with most teams yet to qualify.
