Darren Peters was among the home gold medallists on a bumper day of archery finals at the Invictus Games in Sydney.

Peters was able to claim the men's novice recurve title by beating Ukraine's Oleksandr Zozuliak 6-2 in the final.

In an all-Australian men's open compound final, Stewart Sherman edged Steven Sandman 137-136.

There was Romanian success in the men's open recurve event as Eugen-Valentin Patru secured a 7-1 win over Italy's Fabio Tomasulo.

Romania were also able to claim the team open compound title, with their squad achieving a 279-269 success against Australia.

They were unable to replicate the feat in the team open recurve event, as Italy earned a 6-4 win over their fellow Europeans.

Ukraine sealed a 6-2 win over Denmark in the team novice recurve competition.

In the individual events, Ukraine's Maiia Moskvych was a 6-0 winner against Canada's Mikki Murillo in the women's novice recurve final.

United States' Christina Truesdale won 117-95 over Canada's Wendy Dalcourt in the women's open compound event.

The recurve title was claimed by the United Kingdom's Jennifer Collins, who overcame Australia's Jocelyn McKinley 6-4.

It is the fourth version of the Games - founded in 2014 by Britain's Prince Harry for injured, wounded or sick members of the armed forces.

The previous editions were held in London, Orlando and Toronto.

The Games will conclude tomorrow.
