South Korea beat Oman 4-2 to secure their first points of the Asian Men's Hockey Champions Trophy in Oman's capital Muscat as India and Malaysia drew.

The hosts scored first through Salah Al-Saadi, before South Korea's Hwang Taeil equalised at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.

Mohammed Al Lawati then put Oman ahead again but goals from Lee Seung-Hoon, Yang Ji-Hun and Jang Jong-Hyun put South Korea's victory beyond doubt.

With the top four teams from the round robin event qualifying for the semi-finals, South Korea have increased their chances of progressing.

Oman are yet to pick up any points at the tournament.

The two teams at the top of the table, India and Malaysia, drew their game today 0-0.

Both teams now have 10 points, with India ahead on goal difference.

"I am not happy," said India's coach Harendra Singh.

"We cannot miss chances like this in international hockey."

Tomorrow's action is due to see South Korea take on India and Pakistan meet Japan.
