The final event of the 2018 International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Nations Cup Eventing series begins tomorrow in Boekelo in The Netherlands, featuring riders from 12 different countries as France lead the overall standings.

The Nations Cup competition will take place within the traditional Dutch event, the Military Boekelo-Enschede, which features celebrations of the country's military as well as top international equestrian action.

Each year the event takes place in front of around 60,000 spectators, with 70 riders set to take part this week.

The dressage event will take place across tomorrow and Friday (October 12), with the cross country scheduled for Saturday (October 13) and the final show jumping phase on Sunday (October 14).

After seven events France top the standings on 490 points, just 10 in front of Great Britain in second.

There is then a bit of a gap to third, where Sweden find themselves on 335 points.

The winning team in Boekelo will receive another 100, meaning the overall title for 2018 is still up for grabs.
