Italy moved top of the medals table at the Artistic Skating World Championships in Mouilleron-Le-Captif with two golds today ©World Skate

Italy top the medals with three golds at the Artistic Skating World Championships in Mouilleron-Le-Captif in France as Chiara Censori won the junior title in the inline long programme and Gaida Cavataio claimed victory in the senior figures.

The morning session at the Vendéspace saw Aaron Wunder of Germany win gold in the men’s senior figure, his country’s first medal of the championships.

His compatriot Tim Jendricke won the bronze medal as Argentina’s Luis de Mattia claimed silver.

In the women’s senior figures competition, Cavataio won Italy’s second gold medal of the Championships.

She took the title ahead of Argentine pair Anabella Mendoz and Giselle Sooler, winners of the silver and bronze medals respectively. 

The second session of the day saw another gold for Italy as national and European champion Censori added the world junior title to her collection. 

Censori took the gold medal in the inline long programme as Russia's Anna Semisynova and Veronika Kimont won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

The United States won gold medals in the junior men’s event and the senior women’s.

Colin Motley became the world junior champion as France’s Xan Rols claimed the silver medal and India’s Abhijith Amal Raj took bronze.

America's Natalie Motley also took the gold medal in the women’s senior competition ahead of Russia’s Anastasia Nosova and Serena Giraud of France.

Chinese Taipei added to their medal haul in the senior men’s inline long programme event.

Yi-Fan Chen won the gold medal as his team-mate Hung-Yo Chien collected the bronze.

Separating them in the silver medal position was Italy's Antonio Panfili.

The Championships are due continue tomorrow and are scheduled to last until October 13.
