Swiss Olympic has recruited nine athletes for an online campaign called "Spirit of Sport".

The project aims to promote the "core values" of sport - "excellence, respect and friendship".

To this end, the sporting stars have signed up as ambassadors and have made video statements.

This includes Olympic Alpine skiing champion Wendy Holdener who has emphasised the value of "friendship" in sport.

Footballer Guillaume Hoarau talks about integration, sprinter Mujinga Kambundji discusses discrimination and ice hockey's Jonas Hiller speaks about the negative impact of tobacco.

"The central online platform plays a crucial role in the promotion of information and values within the Swiss Olympic campaign," a statement said.

"Because sport is more than the result.

"The 'Spirit of Sport' has the power to positively influence society - especially the younger generation."
