Malaysia took an early lead in the game, but a resurgence from Sri Lanka made the scores 15-13 after the first quarter at the OCBC Arena.

Sri Lanka then won the second quarter 19-12 to move into a 32-27 lead at half-time.

Having lost the third quarter by just one goal, Malaysia fought back to close the gap to Sri Lanka in the final quarter but could only score 17 points to Sri Lanka’s 14.

The final score was 62-59 to Sri Lanka, ending Malaysia’s winning streak and leaving Sri Lanka only one win away from completing a clean sweep at the tournament.

Sri Lanka will play Hong Kong in the final game, who previously lost to Malaysia.

Malaysia will face hosts Singapore in their last match of the round.

Singapore, who had only lost to Sri Lanka previously, were narrowly defeated 50-49 by Hong Kong.

Hong Kong led throughout the game with a five-point buffer after the first and second quarters.

Singapore won the third quarter by one goal and closed the gap to four.

The final quarter was tightly fought, with Singapore winning the quarter 13-10.

It wasn’t enough to overturn the lead, however, as Hong Kong held onto the victory by a slender one-goal margin.

The hosts now have two losses and look unlikely to qualify as Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand are all currently on one loss.

The Philippines enjoyed a comfortable 73-21 victory against Chinese Taipei, who are yet to win a match in the tournament.

The Maldives were also dominant against Pakistan, winning 60-34.

Thailand kept themselves in the qualifying mix with a 64-42 win over India.

So far, Thailand have only picked up one loss against Hong Kong on day two.

Brunei were also victors, defeating Japan 60-32.

Brunei will face India tomorrow as Japan take on Thailand.
