Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece continued his sensational run at the Rogers Cup by beating Wimbledon finalist Kevin Anderson to set up a final with Rafael Nadal in Toronto

The world number 27, who celebrates his 20th birthday tomorrow, battled from a set-down and saved a match point before beating his big serving South African opponent 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 at the Aviva Centre.

It followed his earlier wins over Austria's Dominic Thiem, Serbia's Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic and Germany's defending champion Alexander Zverev.

Tsitsipas is now set to play in his first ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Masters 1000 final and becomes the first unseeded finalist at the Canadian event since Germany's Nicolas Kiefer in 2008.

"I didn't even have this in my head," he said.

"I thought winning a couple of rounds would be amazing but I'm in the final already. 

"I can't believe what just happened,

"I didn't aim that high and I think with low expectations I managed to pull out my best tennis."

World number one Nadal overcame Karen Khachanov of Russia 7-6, 6-4 to reach a staggering 116th ATP final.

Romanian world number one Simona Halep beat Australian opponent Ashleigh Barty to reach the final of the corresponding women's event at the at the IGA Stadium in Montréal.

Halep triumphed 6-4, 6-1 to set-up a final against American opponent Sloane Stephens in this Women's Tennis Association Premier 5 tournament. 

She overcame Ukraine's Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-3. 

Both finals are scheduled for tomorrow.
