Julia Newton, chair of the governing body, travelled to the Asian nation alongside chief operating officer Matt Archibald and performance director Gary Hall.

They spoke with Choue on subjects including the 2019 World Championships which Britain will host in Manchester.

Discussions were also held on the possibility of taekwondo appearing at the Commonwealth Games in the future.

At present, only a separate Commonwealth Championship is held in the sport.

Choue was also updated on a GB Taekwondo visit to Nepal by programme manager Jayne Ellis and Para-taekwondo coach Andrew Deer.

They delivered a coach education programme and anti-doping sessions in the Asian nation.

"Our visit to Korea was a very productive and worthwhile trip," said Newton, who came home with an honorary black belt.

"We were able to update Dr Choue with the progress being made for hosting the World Championships next year and also for the 2018 World Grand Prix in Manchester.

"But even now I am a black belt owner I will leave the fighting up to our athletes."

Archibald added: "We have always worked hard to strengthen our relationship with World Taekwondo.

"They put their faith in us to organise the first ever World Championships in Britain and we wanted to assure them we are determined to deliver the best ever event."
