Deltatre has agreed a partnership with the Indonesian organisers of next month's Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, it has been announced. 

The Bruin Sports Capital-owned sports media and technology provider will design, create and power the official website and mobile applications for the event, due to take place between August 18 and September 2, using its Multisport Platform Forge.

The company will also serve as an "official supporting sponsor", in a deal which marks the brand’s first sponsorship of a global sports competition.

"[Deltatre] will play a critical role in our mission to deliver the best traditions and experiences of the Games to sports fans throughout Asia," Jakarta Palembang 2018 President Erick Thohir said.

Thohir added: "They are the industry’s foremost experts with decades of experience creating best-in-class digital platforms and services to support live, multi-sport competitions that connect with multi-national audiences.

"Together, we will showcase the athletes and the Games in their finest light to reach more fans than ever."

This year’s Games is set to involve more than 10,000 athletes from 45 countries competing in 67 disciplines in 40 sports, including traditional Asian ones such as sepak takraw, pencak silat, wushu and kabaddi.

"With Asia leading digital growth rates, providing a proven digital platform has arguably never been more important," added Stefano Rigat, President, EMEA for Deltatre.
