Czech Republic knocked out United States following overtime at the Inline Hockey World Championships in Italy.

After a 3-3 draw, the European side won the quarter final clash 4-3 thanks to a sudden death goal from Petr Sinagl.

It booked them a place in the last four against Switzerland at the Hodegart Arena in Asiago.

The Swiss also needed overtime to advance as they eventually ousted Spain 2-1.

In the other quarter finals today, holders France and Canada both went through.

The French pipped Colombia 3-2 to remain on course to defend their title.

Canada ended the hopes of host nation Italy with an exciting 5-4 victory.

Both semi-finals will be played in Asiago tomorrow.
