Defending champions France claimed a hard-fought win over Spain today to maintain their perfect record in Pool A at the Inline Hockey World Championships in Italy.

The French triumphed 3-2 at the Hodegart Arena in Asiago to successfully follow-up their victory against Colombia yesterday.

Colombia failed in their attempt to bounce back from that loss as they fell to a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Canada.

Hosts Italy, the 2016 and 2017 beaten finalists, continued their Pool B campaign with a 4-2 win over Latvia.

They are joined by five-time champions Czech Republic in remaining unbeaten after they defeated Switzerland by the same scoreline.

The United States continued their extremely impressive form in Pool C, thrashing India 41-0 in Roana having overcome China 30-0 yesterday.

China claimed a 1-0 forfeit win over Slovenia today.

Argentina took charge of Pool D with a 5-2 win over Australia as South American rivals Brazil suffered an 11-2 loss against Slovakia.

In Pool E, Sweden preserved their 100 per cent start by beating Great Britain 2-0 after Germany had claimed a 1-0 forfeit win over Poland.

Pool F saw both Chinese Taipei and Japan move onto four points with the former defeating Ireland 7-1 and the latter overcoming Mexico 13-3.

Action is due to continue tomorrow.
