Egypt's top-seeded stars continued their march at the World Junior Individual Squash Championships in Indian city Chennai as the quarter-final line-ups were decided.

The African nation is the sport's superpower and if performances at the Indian Squash Academy are anything to go by, there is plenty of talent coming through.

In the men's draw, top seed Marwan Tarek won his fourth round clash against George Crowne of Canada, 11-6, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4.

His second seeded compatriot is also through to the last eight as Mostafa Asal beat Switzerland's Yannick Wilhelmi 11-9, 11-5, 11-8.

All four players in the men's semi-finals could yet be Egyptian with 3/4 seeds Omar El Torkey and Mostafa El Serty both also through.

El Torkey needed five games to beat Canada's Julien Gossett 11-7, 11-3, 9-11, 11-13, 11-9.

It was more comfortable for El Serty who knocked out Malaysia's Siow Yee Xian 14-12, 11-5, 11-4.

In the women's draw, Egypt's top seed Rowan Reda Araby continued her passage by reaching the quarters.

She eased past Malaysia's Chan Yiwen, 11-4, 11-5, 11-2.

Second seed Hania El Hammamy, another Egyptian, also remains in contention after a 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 win over another Malaysian in Kah Yan Ooi.

However, only one of the 3/4 seeds made it through as England's Lucy Termel defeated Jessica Keng of Malaysia 11-8, 11-6, 13-11.

Aifa Azman, another Malaysian, saw her run end as she lost to another Egyptian in Farida Mohamed, 15-17, 11-7, 11-7, 4-11, 11-6.

In all, five Egyptians are in the women's last eight.

Both tournaments continues tomorrow.
