Dutch riders enjoyed dressage competition success at the International Equestrian Federation European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in Fontainebleau.

Daphné Van Perperstraten emerged as the winner of the junior dressage competition by achieving a score of 74.471 at the Grand Parquet Equestrian Stadium.

She was followed by the German duo Valentina Pistner and Romy Allard, who managed 74.088 and 74.000 respectively.

The young riders title was won by Esmee Donkers, with the Dutch rider achieving a score of 77.294 to top the standings.

Her team-mate Febe van Zwambagt would end as the runner-up in 74.824, with bronze going to Germany’s Lia Welschof, who scored 74.676.


France moved into the lead in the young riders team eventing competition, following the cross-country test.

They now have a score of 92.30 after the dressage and eventing tests, with the show jumping still to come.

Germany lie second on 95.30, with Italy rounding off the top three on 108.20.

The German team lead the junior event on 84.90 points, with France and Britain completing the top three on 85.10 and 91.30.
