Britain's Tahnée Seagrave secured back-to-back International Cycling Union Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup victories by triumphing in Andorra.

Seagrave was victorious last weekend at Val Di Sole in Italy and impressed again in Vallnord.

The British rider sped down the course to cross the line in a time of 4min 49.84sec to top the standings.

Her team-mate and four-time world champion Rachel Atherton ended in second in 4:54.66.

Australia’s Tracey Hannah rounded off the podium places, after she clocked 4:58.53 for her effort in the final.

The result keeps Atherton at the top of the overall World Cup standings on 986 points, having won one race and not finishing lower than third at the five events so far.

Seagrave is 80 points behind following her third victory on the season.

France’s Loris Vergier earned a maiden World Cup victory in the men’s race, as he achieved a time of 4:04.05 to top the standings at the finish.

His compatriot Amaury Pierron would settle for second in 4:04.38, with New Zealand’s Brook Macdonald third in 4:05.65.

Pierron remains the clear leader of the overall World Cup, with the second place following three straight victorires.

He boasts a total of 933 points for season, with Vergier rising to second on a total of 653.

Cross-country competition is set to take place tomorrow.

A short track cross-country event took place yesterday, with Brazil’s Henrique Avancini winning the men’s event in 19:53.

He had a one second gap to The Netherlands' Mathieu van der Poel and Italy's Gerhard Kerschibaumer, who rounded off the podium.

Switzerland’s Nino Schurter, who was also one second off the winner in fourth, retained his lead in the short track World Cup standings.

Fellow Swiss rider Alessandra Keller won the women’s short track race in 20:12, with Denmark’s Annika Langvad and Hungary’s Barbara Benko nine seconds down.

Keller moves to third in the World Cup standings on 830 points, but remains some way down on Switzerland’s Jolanda Neff and Langvad, who have 1,050 and 1,023 respectively.
