Belgium won the junior jumping title at the International Equestrian Federation European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in Fontainebleau.

Their team impressed during the two rounds of competition at the French commune's Grand Parquet Equestrian Stadium.

Thibault Philippaerts and Alexander Housen would both avoid receiving penalties to put Belgium in an ideal position.

Victory was sealed by Simon Morssinkhof, who helped clear some of the penalty points received by Thibault Spits.

The Belgian team would end on a total of 14.55 points, which proved enough to claim victory.

Silver was claimed by Britain, with their team ending on 22.29.

Ireland rounded off the podium places, after they finished the competition with a score of 25.17 points.


Britain remain out in front in the young riders eventing competition, after the second part of the dressage event.

With their four rider team having all competed, they had 80.00 points.

Germany are just 0.10 behind heading into tomorrow's cross-country discipline, with France third on 81.90.
