French 13-year-old Maëlle Noizat produced a spectacular qualifying performance on the opening day of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in Fontainebleau.

Noizat was competing in the first qualifying round in the kids age group for those aged 12 to 14 in the Grand Parquet de Fontainebleau.

She and horse Attraction Riverland completed the opening jumping test clear with a time of 71.93 seconds.

Noona Wildfang Linde of Denmark and Lizanna Kiss of Hungary completed an all female top three after clear rounds in respective times of 73.84 and 74.82.

Germany lead the corresponding team event ahead of Hungary and Spain, with France fourth. 

A first team competition is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
