Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka earned her first victory over a player in the world's top 10 as she stunned defending champion and second seed Karolína Plíšková to reach the semi-finals of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Eastbourne International.

Sabalenka picked an ideal moment to claim arguably the best win of her career as she recovered from 4-1 down in the third set to clinch a dramatic 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 triumph at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club.

The world number 43 will next face Poland's Agnieszka Radwańska for a place in the final of this WTA Premier event.

Radwańska, winner of the WTA Premier series event back in 2008, booked her semi-final berth with a 6-2, 5-7 victory over fifth seed Jeļena Ostapenko of Latvia.

The Polish player has not competed since April owing to back and hip problems and conceded she was surprised she had got this far.

"I took only three dresses with me - [I thought] it's enough for sure," she said.

"I thought maybe one or two matches at the most - especially as I'm unseeded."

Top seed Caroline Wozniacki is also through after the Dane dispatched Australian eighth seed Ashleigh Barty.

Wozniacki wasted little time in progressing to the last four as she outclassed Barty 6-4, 6-3.

The current world number two will face fourth seed Angelique Kerber of Germany after she beat Russian Daria Kasatkina 6-1, 6-7, 7-6.

The tournament in Eastbourne, the final event on grass for women before Wimbledon begins on Monday (July 2), is due to continue tomorrow.
