Argentina beat Chile in a Group A decider as action continued today at the 2018 Pan American Men’s Handball Championship in Nuuk.

A 24-18 win made it four wins out of four for the Argentineans, who will go onto face Group B runners-up and hosts Greenland in the semi-finals on Saturday (June 23).

Greenland’s second-place finish was confirmed after defending champions Brazil defeated Uruguay 35-21 today.

Uruguay needed to beat Brazil and then hope Greenland lost against Canada, who they overcame by a scoreline of 32-20.

Brazil, the Group B winners with five victories from as many outings, will face Chile in the other semi-final.

Today’s other matches saw Guatemala beat Peru 31-26 in the battle to secure fourth place in Group A and Colombia edge Paraguay 24-22 in Group B to set up a ninth-place play-off with the Peruvians.

Paraguay have been confirmed as the 11th-place finishers, while Saturday's fifth-to-eighth-place semi-finals pit Puerto Rico against Canada and Uruguay against Guatemala.

Competition is due to run until Sunday (June 24).
