Greece’s Konstantinos Dimou managed a European record-breaking lift to win the men’s over-107 kilograms event on the final day of the World Para Powerlifting European Open Championships in Berck-sur-Mer in France.

Dimou put 230kg on the board at the Fiolet Weightlifting Room.

Hungary’s Sandor Sas finished second with 201kg and Georgia’s Akaki Jintcharadze came third with 190kg.

The European medals went to the same three competitors.

One of today’s two other gold medallists was Serbia’s Petar Milenkovic, who won the men’s up-to-97kg event with 211kg. 

Indonesia’s Atmaji Priambodo took the silver medal with 198kg, beating third-placed Patrique Dankers of The Netherlands by one kilogram.

Dankers won the European silver medal and Azerbaijan’s Nurlan Babajanov claimed the bronze with 197kg.

Also tasting success was Azerbaijan’s Elshan Huseynov, winner of the men’s up-to-107kg event with 230kg.

Georgia’s Iago Gorgodze had to settle for second place with 197kg.

Brazil’s Mateus de Assis Silva rounded out the podium with 191kg.

The European bronze medal went to Slovakia's Ján Kuboši with 145kg, finishing behind Huseynov and Gorgodze.
