Action continued today at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Nové Město ©UCI

Romania’s Vlad Dascalu and Switzerland’s Sina Frei won the respective men’s and women’s under-23 cross-country races as competition continued today at the International Cycling Union Mountain Bike World Cup in Nové Město in Czech Republic.

Dascalu clocked a time of 1 hour 23min 44sec to claim victory at a circuit around the Nové Město Stadium.

Taking the men’s silver medal was Switzerland’s Filippo Colombo in 1:24:05, while South Africa’s Alan Hatherly rounded out the podium in 1:24:08.

Frei topped the women’s standings in 1:24:08, edging out Denmark’s Malene Degn who posted the same time.

Italy’s Marika Tovo secured the bronze medal in 1:24:27.

Action in Nové Město is due to conclude tomorrow with the elite cross-country races.
