A 12-strong squad has been announced for the event taking place in the Canadian city from May 21 to 23. 

Tenório won the Pralympic bronze medal at London 2012 and silver at Rio 2016 to follow four straight victories between Atlanta 1996 and Beijing 2008.

He is due to compete in the under-100 kilograms event.

Fellow Rio 2016 silver medallist Wilians Araújo is also selected in the over-100kg category.

Other male team members are Arthur Silva at under-90kg, Harlley Arruda at under-81kg, Luan Pimentel at under-73kg and Thiego Silva at under-60kg.

On the women's side, Lucia Araúja and Luiza Oliano Maria Nubea Lins will contest the respective under-63kg and under-57kg events while Meg Emmerich and Rebeca Silva will each compete in the over-70kg division.

"We had an excellent training phase, with a lot of intensity and an emphasis on the technical elements," said coach Alexandre Garcia.

"In the last few days before the competition it is very important that the athletes keep up this pace. 

"The objective of the technical training is that the athletes can have a great competition."

The main target for Brazil this year is the IBSA Judo World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal from November 16 to 18.
