The Pakistan Taekwondo Federation organised a National Championship for Para-taekwondo.

Competition was held at the Wapda Sports Complex in Lahore.

More than 20 clubs competed for top honours, according to Pakistani publication The News.

In the end, Punjab were awarded the overall team title.

Sindh finished in second position and Balochistan were third.

The event attracted 120 players in all with Alizer Iqbal named as the competition's best athlete.

As a result he was selected for the Asian Para Championships which will take place at the end of this month in Vietnam.

Para-taekwondo is preparing to make its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020.

It will appear at the Games for the first time alongside fellow new sport badminton.
