Wakako Tsuchida was among home winners today at the Japanese-leg of the World Paratriathlon Series in Yokohama.

Tsuchida won by over three minutes at the International Triathlon Union-organised event with a time of 1hour 11min 23sec in the PTWC category.

She proved far too strong for Australia's Lauren Parker, who was second in 1:14:53, and United States' Ahalya Lettenberger, third in 1:15:09.

The Netherlands' Jetze Plat sped to victory in a Dutch 1-2 in the corresponding men's class.

He clocked 56:21 to beat fellow countryman Geert Schipper, second in 58:56.

Great Britain's Commonwealth Games gold medallist Joseph Townsend finished third in 1:02:01.

A second home win was secured by Mami Tani in the PTS4 class.

She finished in a time of 1:13:56 to comfortably beat Russia's Anna Plotnikova, second in 1:16:03, and Australia's Sally Pilbeam, third in 1:17:42.

There were also two British victories.

George Peasgood won the men's PTS5 class in 1:00:12.

He prevailed by just 25 seconds over Alexandr Ialchik of Russia while Chris Hammer secured American bronze in 1:00:59.

Lauren Steadman won the equivalent women's category in 1:06:39.

United States' Grace Norman was second in 1:08:46 and France's Gwladys Lemoussu of France third in 1:12:12.
