Taekwondo Federation Netherlands received €62,767 (£55,156/$75,355) from the Dutch Lottery during 2017, they have revealed. 

They were one of several Dutch sporting organisations to benefit from lottery contributions.

Members of Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation (NOC*NSF) were given funding.

Funds were aimed at helping to provide support to athletes and boost recreational sport in the country.

The Dutch taekwondo team secured one medal at the 2017 World Championships in Muju in South Korea.

Reshmie Oogink earned a bronze medal in the women’s 73 kilogram division at the Championships.

Oogink made the semi-final stage of the competition, where she was beaten by eventual champion Milica Mandić from Serbia. 

The Lottery is a non-profit organisation, with proceeds from various games going towards sport and good causes.
