Poland inflicted Slovakia’s first defeat of the Championships, by 6-4, ahead of their "replay” tomorrow before beating Slovenia 7-5 in their final group match.

Slovakia finished strongly with an 8-7 win over Croatia.

Slovenia meanwhile, who lost their earlier match 10-9 to Croatia, will contest third place with Austria, who completed their qualifying programme with a 12-4 win over France before taking an automatic win over Belgium, who had to withdraw from the tournament at short notice.

Belarus missed out on the top four places by a place despite taking an automatic win over Belgium followed by a 10-2 victory over France.
