Both joint leaders of the men's International Ski Federation Freestyle Skiing Big Air World Cup qualified for the final at the season-ending event in Quebec City today.

It means that Switzerland's Elias Ambühl and Norway's Christian Nummedal will be able to battle it out for the overall title in the final at the Canadian venue.

The two men are locked on 129 points with 100 points available for a victory in Quebec.

Ambuehl qualified in sixth-place for the 10-man final, scoring 90.20 points.

Nummedal finished eighth in qualifying after his run gave him a score of 88.40.

Finland's Elias Syrja was the top qualifier with 95.20 points and could still clinch the World Cup crown as he is 43 points adrift of the top two.

Swedish skier Hugo Burvall is even closer to the summit - just 35 points shy - and also qualified for the final in seventh after scoring 89.00 points.

In the women's event, Chile's Dominique Ohaco has a great chance to win the overall title.

She currently lies third in the standings but the two Swiss skiers above her, Giulia Tanno and Sarah Höfflin, are not among the six-woman field in Quebec.

Ohaco topped qualification today on 88.20 with all six women making the final.

The Chilean is 55-points adrift of the lead so a finish in the top three, enough for 60 points, is her minimum target.

Italy's Silvia Bertagna could also potentially steal the overall title by winning the event.

Both finals will take place on Saturday (March 25) with snowboard big air qualification beginning tomorrow.
