Tunisia's Walid Ktila earned gold as the World Para Athletics Grand Prix continued in Dubai.

Ktila has had differing fortunes so far at the event, having won 200 metres and 800m titles on the opening day, before being disqualified in yesterday’s T33/34 400m race.

He responded in impressive fashion by winning the T34 100m in a time of 15.39 seconds, with 400m winner Bojan Mitic second in 17.10.

Japan's Atsuro Kobata claimed bronze in 17.71.

Marcel Hug upgraded from his 400m silver medal by winning the men's T54 1,500m wheelchair event, with the Swiss star clinching gold in 3min 12.40sec.

He was followed by Kuwait,s Faisal Alrajehi in 3:12.68, with the podium completed by Morocco's Yassine Gharbi at 0.20 seconds behind the winner.

Hug settled for third place in the men's T54 100m final, with home favourite Mohammed Vahdani taking the title.

The United Arab Emirates athlete clocked 14.64 to take the gold, with Saudi Arabia’s Jamaan Alzahrani and Hug trailing home in 14.80 and 14.91 respectively.

Algeria’s Nadia Medjmed achieved a world record in the women’s F56 discus competition, as she achieved a throw of 26.28m.

The result gave her 1,076 points, placing her top of the F56/57 standings.

Fellow Algerian Nassima Saifi, an F57 athlete, achieved a throw of 30.58m to score 960 points and finish second.

Bronze was claimed by Germany’s Martina Willing, who threw 20m to score 852 points.

Britain’s Sophie Kamlish was also among the winners on the third day of action, as she clocked 14,08 seconds in the women’s T63/64 100m final.

The podium was completed by the Japanese duo Maya Nakanishi and Kaede Maegawa, who finished in 15.13 and 16.95 respectively.
