Åre is poised to bring an end to the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup season with five days of competition.

The Swedish venue is set to stage downhill, super G, slalom and giant slalom races in the coming days, along with a team event.

Downhill action will be the focus tomorrow, with men’s and women’s races scheduled to take place.

Italy’s Pyeongchang 2018 downhill gold medallist Sofia Goggia heads the women’s World Cup standings on 429 points from seven races.

She lies 23 points clear of the United States’ Lindsey Vonn and will hope to seal top spot tomorrow.

Switzerland’s Beat Feuz heads the men’s leaderboard on 622 points, with Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal second on 562.

Attention will turn to the super G discipline on Thursday (March 15), with Liechtenstein’s Tina Weirather trying to secure the women’s title.

Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud has already earned the men’s crown.

A team event will take place the following day, before slalom races take place on Saturday (March 17).

Austria’s Marcel Hirscher and United States’ Mikaela Shiffrin have dominated the disciplines throughout the season and will aim to end on a high.

The World Cup will draw to a close the on Sunday (March 18), with the giant slalom.

Germany’s Viktoria Rebsenburg leads the women’s standings heading into the final race, while Hirscher is top of the men’s.
