Maiken Caspersen Falla of Norway could wrap up the women's overall sprint title when she competes in the penultimate race of the International Ski Federation Cross-Country World Cup season on home snow in Drammen tomorrow.

The 27-year-old, who won a sprint silver medal at last month's Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, is the current leader on the overall standings and will clinch the crown if she emerges victorious.

Falla is in pole position in front of Olympic sprint champion Stina Nilsson of Sweden, who is also due to compete in Drammen, with a total of 443 points.

Nilsson remains her closest challenger on 415 points.

If Falla goes on to take the title, she will join Petra Majdic of Slovenia and American Kikkan Randall on three sprint World Cup crystal globes.

The destination of the men's crown has already been decided as Norway's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo captured the title at the last event in Lahti.

Klæbo cannot be surpassed at the summit of the leaderboard as he has 590 points, 165 more than world champion Federico Pellegrino of Italy.

Just 150 points are available from the last two sprint events on the World Cup circuit as only 50 are on offer for the final race in Falun later this month.

The men's and women's city sprints in Drammen are both scheduled to take place tomorrow.
