USA Synchro have announced the resignation of the organisation's executive director Myriam Glez.

Glez has served for five years in the position at the national governing body for synchronised swimming.

She was initially hired as their high performance director in 2013, but additionally took on the post of executive director two years later.

Glez will now depart both roles, having opted to resign.

"I have decided to resign from my position as chief executive and high performance director of USA Synchro," Glez said.

"I have made this decision with a heavy heart.

"Many have supported me over the last five years.

"I have met incredible people and made lifelong friendships.

"I am so grateful and honoured to have been able to work with USA Synchro and for the experience and opportunity to support the athletes."

Glez represented France in synchronised swimming at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, before moving to Australia.

She gained Australian citizenship in 2007 and competed for the nation at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

"We thank Myriam for her many contributions to USA Synchro and our sport," said Linda Loehndorf, USA Synchro President.

"She brought energy and focus to our athletes and their technical development as well as a creative capacity to our Championships and the organisation as a whole.

"She will be missed."
