Poland's Kamila Zuk clinched her second gold medal of the International Biathlon Union Youth/Junior World Championships as she added the junior women's sprint title to her individual crown in Otepää.

Zuk, who competed at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang last month, amassed one penalty on her way to clocking 22min 32.5sec in the Estonian town.

She finished a comfortable 26 seconds in front of the silver medallist, Czech Republic's Markéta Davidová.

France’s Myrtille Begue produced an excellent shooting performance but was 52 seconds adrift of the victorious Zuk in bronze medal position.

"Now I have two gold medals and I still cannot believe it," Zuk said.

"Before the World Championships, I dreamt about it and now dreams come true."

The men's sprint honours were secured by Russia's Vasilii Tomshin as he shot clean before crossing the line in 25:01.8.

France’s Martin Perrillat Bottonet came through to take silver, 20.5 seconds behind Tomshin.

Sverre Dahlen Aspenes of Norway recovered from two misses on the shooting range to claim the bronze medal, 29.4 seconds back.

"We have a really strong team with many powerful guys, but today it was my day," said Tomshin.

"I am very happy to win and glad that I managed to shot clean."

The Championships are due to finish tomorrow with the youth and junior relays for men and women.
