World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue welcomed a senior Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) delegation to the governing body's headquarters in Seoul.

The group in the South Korean capital was led by COC President Gou Zhongwen, who is also the Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China.

Choue and Gou discussed the development of takewondo in China, and in particular the World Taekwondo Grand Slam Champions Series which was held for the first time in Chinese city Wuxi in December and January.

The inaugural event, which is open to the world's top taekwondo athletes, was unveiled by Choue in July.

Its purpose is to professionalise and upgrade taekwondo's commercial appeal and media profile, with the introduction of new technology to engage television viewers and fans a key feature.
