Denmark's Cathrine Dufour continued a fine week in Gothenburg by tasting victory at the International Equestrian Federation Dressage World Cup in the Swedish city.

Riding Atterupgaard Cassidy, the duo scored 88.200 to win the qualifier event.

It came after Dufour also won the Grand Prix event in Gothenburg yesterday with an 80 per cent score - something only 15 riders have achieved at elite level.

Her effort today at the Scandinavium was a world record under the new FEI degree of difficulty evaluation system, which saw her achieve all nines in technical scores across the panel of international judges.

Twenty-six-year-old Dufour is establishing herself as an up-and-comer in dressage and already boasts three European Championship medals.

She beat Germany's Isabell Werth, a six-time Olympic gold medallist, into silver as she scored 85.380 with Emilio 107.

Sweden's home favourite Patrik Kittel won bronze, scoring 83.635 with Delaunay Old for a rock routine to Guns N' Roses.

Kittel remains on top of the World Cup standings.
