The Russian city of Krasnoyarsk will host an Alpine skiing test event as it steps up preparations for the 2019 Winter Universiade.

The "Tzimik Memorial" stage of the Russian Cup will take place from March 4 to 10 at the Funpark Bobrovy Log, with downhill, slalom, giant slalom and parallel team events all included on the programme.

Approximately 150 athletes from across Russia are expected to travel to Krasnoyarsk for the event.

The Funpark Bobrovy Log venue contains nine ski runs, which all meet International Ski Federation (FIS) standards.

The complex, which hosts FIS Alpine Skiing Russian Cup events on an annual basis, is also equipped with modern artificial snow-making technology and injection systems, allowing for high-quality and stable snow cover - in line with the requirements of international competitions.

There are plans to test aspects of Krasnoyarsk 2019 such as medical care, security, logistics, accreditation, transport, volunteer work, catering and cultural events.

Organisational processes for in-competition conditions will also be trialled and worked out during the events.

The 2019 Winter Universiade is due to take place from March 2 to 12.
