Yankton is set to welcome more than 200 archers for the 2018 World Archery Indoor Championships.

The South Dakotan city is scheduled to host competition until February 19, with elite and junior events set to take place.

Action will take place at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex, which has doubled in size in order to host the Championships.

The facility has previously hosted the World Archery Youth Championships in 2015 and will be the venue for the World Archery Field Championships in 2020.

Several archers will be making their way to the event from Las Vegas, which hosted the concluding event of this season's Indoor Archery World Cup circuit last week.

Competition will begin tomorrow with qualification for the compound and recurve events.

Matchplay will take place until Monday (February 19).

Ukraine's Heorhiy Ivanytskyy and Germany's Lisa Unruh won the elite individual men's and women's recurve events two years ago in Ankara, Turkey.

Germany triumphed in the men's team event, while Japan secured the women's honours.
