The Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) have released the draw for the upcoming 2018 Commonwealth Championship at Dolphin Stadium in Moreton Bay.

The Commonwealth Championship, taking place from February 23 to 24, will see nines teams from 11 Commonwealth nations compete in three categories - men's under-23, women's and physical disability.

The men's under-23 and women's competitions have been split into two pools.

Pool A of the men's event contains hosts Australia, Fiji, Scotland and Wales whilst Pool B consists of England, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga.

Pool A in the women's competition is made up of Australia, Fiji and Samoa with Pool B containing Canada, Cook Islands and Tonga.

The one physical disability pool contains Australia, New Zealand and a Commonwealth All-Star team.

The men's under-23 match between Tonga and Samoa is scheduled to kick-off the tournament on day one, which will see 22 matches played in all three categories.

The opening day ends with hosts Australia competing in three matches across all three divisions.

Firstly, the physical disability team take on New Zealand before both the women's and men's side face Fiji in the closing games.

Day one's pool matches will decide the schedule for the knock-out games on day two, which culminates in medal events.

RLIF chief executive David Collier said he was looking forward to the competition.

"The Commonwealth Championships provided an outstanding competition at Glasgow 2014," Collier said.

"Following the success of the Women's World Cup, these Championships embrace an expanded event including six women's nations in addition to the eight men's teams.

"RLIF is extremely grateful to Moreton Bay for the excellent facilities and to the continued support of the Commonwealth Games for the sport of rugby league.

"The 2018 Championships will provide a great weekend of world class sport for spectators and players alike and we look forward to welcoming the teams to Queensland this month."

Moreton Bay mayor Allan Sutherland added: "We’re no stranger to hosting large sporting events here and we're thrilled to be welcoming players, coaches, staff and die-hard league supporters from around the world for the 2018 Commonwealth Championship."
