Tattersalls Fiji have been announced as the presenting partner and sponsor for the 2018 Fiji Sports Awards, which will take place on March 2.

The company contributed $30,000 (£21,500/€24,400) to the awards following a meeting and will also have the naming rights for the Fiji Sportsman and Sportswoman prizes.

The company's executive director Graeme Brown said it was an honour to help support the development of sports in the country.

The awards ceremony will see 11 prizes handed out for achievements by athletes, administrators, coaches, volunteers and photographers.

The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee are also involved in the awards ceremony.

It will take place at the FMF Gymnasium on March 2 following the announcement of nominees on February 23.

Fiji made their debut at the 1956 Olympic Games and won their first-ever medal when they claimed gold in the men's rugby sevens event at Rio 2016.
