Dave Follansbee has been appointed as vice president of the New England area by the International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB) Physique America President Wayne DeMilia.

Follansbee is a current IFBB elite pro and is a former chairman and judge at American organisation the National Physique Committee.

In addition, he is also a seven-time national powerlifting champion.

DeMilia welcomed the appointment of Follansbee.

"Dave Follansbee is the perfect man to head up the region," he said. 

"He is vastly experienced in both promoting and judging, as well as being a competitor in physique and powerlifting. 

"In addition, Dave has a degree in exercise physiology, showing he is well rounded in every aspect of the industry.

"If a person was made for a position, it's Dave."

Mike Bernier and Todd Dery have now been appointed to the New England Executive Committee.

Al Alfredo will serve as chairman of Connecticut with Doug Goings the chairman for Maine.

"I plan to work with my Committee to not only name chairmen in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island within the next two weeks, but to also have an extensive contest schedule together for the 2018 season," said Follansbee.

"IFBB Physique America is a breath of fresh air for the sport, especially for the athletes. 

"We are a team and as the New England vice president, I am honoured and proud to lead IFBB Physique America, where the elite compete."

Physique America is the United States arm of the IFBB.
