Norway put in an excellent combined performance to secure gold in the mixed team ski jumping event on the last day of competition at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Kandersteg.

The Norwegian team, consisting of Silje Opseth, Fredrik Villumstad, Anna Odine Strøm and Marius Lindvik, were awarded a combined total of 869.3 points after their eight jumps on the 106-metre normal hill at the Swiss resort.

Lindvik, winner of the the individual men's ski jumping title on Thursday (February 1), recorded both the best score and longest distance of the day in his two efforts.

The 19-year-old completed the longest jump of the day, 106.5m, with his first attempt before being awarded the day’s highest score with 129.8 points given for his second jump of 103.0m, giving him an overall points total of 248.5.

Norway were only 14.3 points ahead of Germany's total of 855.0, whose best performer was Constantin Schmid with a total of 233.3 points, in the silver medal position.

Austria claimed the bronze medal with a points total of 775.8 points.
