Tickets have gone on sale for next year's International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre.

It has also been announced that SkiStar will be the Presenting Sponsor for the Championships. 

Swedish officials are hoping to attract 120,000 visitors during the two-week event by offering several packages ranging from single day passes to a two-week Championship ticket.

Tickets are available online on the official competition website here.

Ticket packages including travel and accommodation costs will also be available in the spring.

"The launch of the ticket sales also marks the start of the final countdown until the event," Åre 2019 chief executive Niklas Carlsson said.

"The World Cup Finals 2018 in Åre from March 14 to 18 will be the ultimate dress rehearsal after which all our focus will be on executing our plan."

Carlsson revealed his excitement at signed up SkiStar, who will also be the competition’s official clothing supplier.

"We are both proud and pleased to welcome SkiStar onboard as the Presenting Sponsor of Åre 2019," he said.

“We’re already working closely with them, especially on the slopes and in resort operations.

"Thanks to SkiStar’s excellent communication channels, their sponsoring engagement will create substantial synergies in marketing and promotion of the Championships and for the sport of skiing: a win-win since SkiStar wants to have more people skiing and we are all about ‘inspiring the world to ski.’”

The Championships 2019 are due to take place from February 5 to 17 next year.

The 2019 championships will be the third time that the Swedish municipality of Åre has hosted the competition having also done so in 1954 and 2007.
