The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has named another 110 athletes who have been selected for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

It takes the total number of Germans selected so far to 153 with the Opening Ceremony in South Korea taking place on February 9.

Gracenote's Virtual Medal Table predicts that Germany will finish top of the pile in Pyeongchang with 14 golds, 14 silver and 14 bronze forecast.

Athletes selected in the latest group come from the sports of biathlon, bobsleigh, speed skating, Nordic combined, short track, skeleton, Alpine skiing, freestyle, ski jumping and snowboard.

The number includes Olympic champions from Sochi 2014, with Nordic combined's Eric Frenzel and ski jumpers Carina Vogt and Andreas Wellinger all named.

Other Olympic medallists picked include speed skater Claudia Pechstein, lugers Felix Loch and Tatjana Hüfner, Alpine skier Viktoria Rebensburg and bobsleigh's Kevin Kuske.

"It's a good mix of experience and Olympic champions," said Germany's Pyeongchang 2018 Chef de Mission Dirk Schimmelpfennig.

"The athletes have achieved some outstanding results in this winter season, but we also had a lot of injury.

"But it remains true, we are guided by the result of Sochi and set ourselves the goal of proving a further development of winter sports in Germany in the last four years.

"We do everything to ensure that our athletes have the best possible conditions so that they can call on their potential services."

Germany finished sixth in the Sochi 2014 medal table, winning eight golds.

Veronika Rücker, the DOSB chief executive, and DOSB President Alfons Hörmann added in a joint statement: "For Team Germany, the values and the Olympic spirit are high on the list.

"Of course we want success, that's what the athletes want, but not at any price.

"We are also committed to a fair and sympathetic appearance of the team."
